Factors Contributing to Abuse, including:-
Drugs, Alcohol, Mental Health, Social surroundings, offender previously witnessed or subject to abuse.
Who can be a Victim/Abuser?
Why does the Victim Stay, anyone can be a victim/abuser
Responding to a call – Initial Risk Assessment, including :-
Recognising clues including body language.
Could This Be Domestic Violence? Including:-
Damage to property, Injuries, Behaviour of partner. Who made the call, Address, History, orders in place.
How to create a safe environment for the Responder, Victim, Abuser and Children.
How to gain trust, Including :-
Liaising through friend/relative, meeting in private, relative contact.
Adult and Child Safeguarding.
Collecting Evidence, Observational and Written from the reluctant person, Including :-Photographic evidence, Scene of crime officers, statements, Body cameras.
Working in Collaboration with other agencies – Statutory and Voluntary.
